I have posted some more pictures of the family. McKelvey had her Magic Tree House birthday party. We had a great time. We turned the kids into:
Open letter to my Favorite pair of jeans
I regret to say that I must retire you favorite pair of jeans. It has been a good ride, ten plus years. No one can doubt it has been great.
Remember when we first met? You were my good jeans, a little stiff, but after a couple of washings you softened up to me. That is when I realized you were different than all the other jeans out there. You had that something extra. You gave me more than protection from the elements, you made me look good. More importantly, you made me feel like I looked good. That a rare gift from an inanimate object.
As time passed, you were no longer the ‘good’ jeans, and became ‘everyday’ jeans as you became more worn and faded. But I never painted in you, for a time. That day came as well, you became ‘work’ jeans to paint and build in, and the inevitable paint splotches and rips began to appear. When your knee blew out I added a patch, but I knew the end was coming. And here it is.
I must bid you adieu dear jeans, I can only hope I made you as happy as you made me.

Ultimate Geek Desk
I found the ultimate geeks desk:
While I thing such a thing is neat. I would never want one. I like to contain my Geekiness rather than flaunt it.

Makes a daddy proud
So we were listening toThe Best of the Smiths, Vol. 1 yesterday while cleaning up after dinner. Arden said all of a sudden, “This is the best music of my whole life!”
Creepy snake robots
Creepy movie of snake robots made by students at Carniege Mellon Univ. This is really neat and kinda freaky at the same time.

What’s been going on
Well we’ve had a busy time the last couple of weeks, McKelvey had her birthday, and it has been one week since THE LONGEST NIGHT OF MY LIFE. Last tuesday Ann caught the stomach flu during the day. So I went to pick McKelvey up from school, soon she was throwing up too. When Arden started throwing up I knew it was not going to be fun. So I had a solitary dinner, because everyone was dozing either on the couch or upstairs. Ann was taking care of herself and Liam upstairs, which left me to run defense downstairs. Then I spent the next hours catching vomit in bowls, dumping them out cleaning the bowls, washing my hands, going back to the couch to do it again. McKelvey was able to wake herself up to throw up, but Arden had to be monitored, so that when she squirmed, I would sit her up so she could throw up. SO I when I dozed off, I kept waking up at the slightest noise, which didn’t lend itself to a restful night. Then things got worse when my solitary dinner came back to say hi around midnight. The worst part was that since I held out the longest, I got left in the lurch. I mean where was my help? But oh well.
To make a long story short (too late) we eventually got better. Just in time to get McKelvey’s Birthday party ready for Saturday. I’ll have pictures up soon and maybe a separate post.
Old post from december
Here is something I was writing up in december and never got around to posting:
I think one reason people like babies is their lack of free will. And they are cute. And babies don’t stop you when you tickle them. They don’t express their opinion that they might not care for it. You can play round with them and they only cry when they are tired or hungry. Currently Liam can’t crawl or talk, so you and he can have a great time. He likes to chew on toys(or anything else). So all you have to do is keep all choking hazards out of reach and enjoy it while it lasts.
Liam Crawling
I have posted a video of Liam crawling. Although since he doesn’t get all the way on his knees, it is more like scooting.
