Just a bit of everything
I have finally gotten around to posting the pictures from Arden’s birthday. As you can see there was a lot of bacon going on.
We had pin the bacon on the plate of eggs, a bacon piniata, and a bacon looking( but not tasting) cake.
Also McKelvey has had her birthday, and one of her presents was:
Yes Princess Leia hair buns.
Don’t worry we all tried them on, go see the pix.
Well, I finally have pictures up from Halloween.

I also have some pictures from my birthday, the girls dance performance at the Theater at Lime Kiln(at which Liam wore a tux), Carving pumpkins, and more.
Well a lot has happened the last couple of weeks. and now the pictures are up to prove it. They are here by the way. We have a trip to New york city, in which the girls saw their first Broadway show and afterwards walked out on Times Square. They got to visit some of Ann’s friends and we all went to the American Girls store as well.
This past weekend we wetn to a Fall Harvest festival. They did a big puppet show (no really they were big puppets). Most notably McKelvey finally wore pants.
I Have posted the last of the summer fun pictures. I guess I could be wrong since there is more to the summer but anyway. The pictures are here. These are images I got from some friends over the course summer, so they will cover 4th of july to the beginning of August. I thought there were some really cute ones here. Enjoy.
I have posted some new pictures from the past couple of weeks. In June we went on our annual trip to Natural bridge, during Rockbridge resident week(when we get a discounted price). We went up to Harrisonburg for their old timey ‘Courthouse days’. Fun old games and stuff. We went up to Ann’s parents for a couple of days, and then to ETC. Where I am spending all my time on running a theatre program for high school students. And there is a lot of drama, which should be expected for teenagers that do theatre and all live in the same house for 5 weeks.

We have made our (soon to be) annual New Year’s card. and to go along with that here is our family’s 2007 in pictures.
Two weekends ago the weather was nice and we went out with the kids’ new stomp rocket. A stomp rocket is a little tube for the rocket with a bit of foam at the end(example here), and you jump on a this sort of a bladder. The air being pushed out of the bladder pushes the rocket up in the air. The explanation loses some of the fun of it. The kids had a blast shooting it up into the air. They would jump on or have us lift them up to jump down on it. WE got in on as well. IT was great running and chasing after them. Liam enjoyed the spectacle as well. He is very inquisitive now, sitting up and looking at everything.
Last Friday I got to go with McKelvey on her class trip to the Virginia Safari Park. As always it was great. This trip was different, since we had a guide talking to us about the animals and we rode on the wagon. We got to feed the bison, camels, kangaroos, as well as the potbellied pigs. Then this past saturday, we went to The Udvar-Hazy Air and Space center. It is part of the Smithsonian. It’s in a old aircraft hangar and it houses a ton(or many tons) of historic aircraft and spacecraft. They had planes from the beginning of flight, as well as an SR71 Blackbird and a Concorde. Some of the cooler stuff is a retired Spaceshuttle (another pic here) and the Enola Gay (which dropped the bomb on Hiroshima). Another plane that brought up fond memories of youth was the Corsair which just made me think of the Black Sheep squadron TV show.
Also last week, McKelvey officially became a Brownie, She is tickled pink and is having fun with it. Since this is pseudo Girls Scouts, we might be hitting you up with sales of cookies and things.

I have posted some new pictures. Enjoy them. I have gone back to my old way of doing the photos. For a while I was trying to use this software called Gallery to organize things, but it was to complicated. now I am back to generating the photos using a different program called “Galerie”. easier is better most of the time.
